Celebrating A Legacy of Hope

Since its founding in 1978 by the visionary Dr.Rose Chacko, Nambikkai Nilayam, meaning “A Center of Hope”, has been a beacon for children and families across India and South Asia. As pioneers in streamlining care for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, her legacy continues to inspire generations of clinicians and caregivers.

In honor of this legacy, we are proud to announce the Dr. Rose Chacko Poster Competition as part of Autism360.

 

The first prize in the Trainee Category will be awared the Dr. Rose Chacko Award.

 

The Poster Competition includes the following categories:

- Faculty (1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes)
- Trainees (Dr.Rose Chacko award, 2nd and 3rd prizes)
- Special Best Poster category for Undergraduate students

Themes for the poster:
  • Etiology, neurobiology, developmental trajectories of ASD
  • Clinical phenomenology, assessment and diagnosis
  • Therapeutic intervention -behavioral, pharmacological, developmental, parent training interventions
  • Comorbidity, behavioral and emotional challenges
  • Family systems, parenting and psychosocial impact
  • Service delivery, public health integration

Rules for Abstracts

Abstract should be no more than 1500 words, must be related to Autism spectrum disorders and should include the following headings:

 

A. Original Research:

1. Introduction: a brief background and need for the study

2. Methods: subjects, primary outcome measures, statistical analysis

3. Results: present as clearly as possible the outcome of the study and statistical significance if appropriate

4. Conclusion: Significance of the results and clinical implications

 

B. Case Reports

1. Introduction: A brief background

2. Case Summary: Brief note on history, important examination findings and investigations, treatment approach, etc.

3. Discussion: Highlight the reasons why the case is being reported

4. Conclusion: Clinical implications

 

 Abstract Submission

A maximum of two abstracts allowed per delegate (as presenting author). A team of experts will review the abstracts and delegates whose abstracts are selected for poster presentation will be notified by email.

Rules for Posters

  1. A team of experts will select the top posters (three from consultant, three from trainees, one-two from UG section), and these will be considered for the awards.
    • This will be notified on the day of the conference.
  2. Remaining PDFs of the posters will be uploaded on the website and the link of same will be shared with all.
  3. Please note: All accepted abstracts will get a poster presentation e-certificate.
  4. The soft copy of the poster must be sent in the following format.
    1. File Format: Submit a one-page PDF with a maximum file size of 20 MB.
    2. Design: Create the poster in landscape mode with a screen size of 25 inches height X 46 inches width in PowerPoint, presentation slide, or Publisher, and convert it into PDF.
    3. Headings: Include Title (with Institutional Affiliations below), Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, References, and Acknowledgements (if applicable).
    4. Referencing: Follow the Vancouver standard referencing style consistently.
    5. Clarity: Ensure the e-poster is self-explanatory with concise and well-organized text.
    6. Font and Typeface: opt for a clear and modern typeface like Times new Roman with a font size of minimum of 24 to 34.
    7. Illustrations: Enlarge images to show relevant details, maintaining graphical and visual clarity for numerical or statistical data.
    8. Abbreviations: Define any abbreviations/acronyms when used for the first time.
  5. Instructions for Poster Uploading:
    1. Submission Deadline: Email the abstract/ final formatted poster to scicom@cmcautism360.in
    2. Changes: No modification will be allowed after the submission deadline.
  6. Session Details: Presentations will be during morning 8AM-9AM and lunch break outside New examination hall, CMC Vellore.
  7. It is MANDATORY to register for the conference for your abstract to be considered for poster presentation.
